Why the naming matters

“Business card”, “corporate card” and “credit card” are not synonyms

Most confusion in this category comes from four phrases being used interchangeably in search: business card, corporate card, business credit card and corporate credit card. They imply different liability models, different underwriting inputs and different administrative controls.

We keep a single consistent taxonomy across the site and apply it on every card page, so you can compare like with like instead of comparing marketing language.

  • Liability — does the company or an individual owner carry the obligation?
  • Underwriting input — company financials and cash position, or a personal credit profile?
  • Administration — self-serve employee issuance and central controls, or a single owner-managed account?
  • Repayment rhythm — balance settled in full on a fixed cycle, or revolving with interest?

Frequently asked questions

No. Brex Online is an independent information project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Brex, and we have no commercial relationship with the company. The name Brex is used on this site only to identify the subject we document, in the same way a reference publication names the products it describes.
No. There is no sign-in form anywhere on this website and there never will be. We do not collect usernames, passwords, verification codes, passkeys or financial data. Our Brex Login information page explains where the official sign-in lives, how common authentication methods work and how to recognise lookalike pages — but the sign-in itself always happens on the provider's own website.
No. We do not accept applications, forward applications or collect business information. Applications are handled exclusively by the provider on its own website.
The project is funded by its publisher and does not take payment for coverage, placement or ranking. There are no affiliate links, sponsored reviews or paid comparisons on the site. Our editorial policy describes the boundaries in detail.
Each page carries an update date. Card programmes, eligibility rules and platform features change frequently, so we describe how things generally work rather than publishing specific rates, limits or approval criteria that would go stale. Always confirm decision-critical details with the provider.
Start with the corporate cards hub for the category background, then read the Brex Card reference for a worked example of how a specific product is structured. The category comparison guide resolves most of the naming confusion.
